Great story guys, we hunted black bear out of Petersburg in May of 2008, great hunt with about 60% success rate. Question for you. Do you prefer Kupreanof Island or Prince of Wales Island for spring black bear?

Here are the regs for carrying ammo on alaska airlines I copied it directly from their site just to clearify some information about how you can transport ammo in alaska.

Ammunition — up to 50 lbs.(domestic) and 11 lbs. (international - where permitted) may be checked, if securely packed in the original manufacturer’s package or in a container designed for ammunition and of sufficient strength to protect it from accidental crushing or discharge (i.e. wood, fiber, plastic, or metal). The projectile must be no larger than 11/16″ in diameter, the size of a dime. Ammunition may be checked with or separately from the firearm.

Oh man that was a cool video.

I could see how the wolf could have tormented the cubs enough to draw them quite a distance away from their mother. I will have to show this to my bear hunting buddies. They will get a kick out of that.

You’ve certainly got my interest. The stories and pictures are great. Now if only you can have some bear tenderloin along with those trout. I never get tired of eating fresh caught fish. By the way how are you posting this?
